Eczema, it seems that everyone is a sufferer, but what is it? Eczema, or Atopic dermatitis, if we break it down is just your bodies immune system over-reacting to something. Your body finds an invader and goes to fight it in the form of inflammation making your skin red and itchy.

Stay hydrated! Every system in the body functions better when it’s hydrated. The skin is especially susceptible to dehydration and allowing it to become so can cause micro-fissures in the skin that let more irritants to enter the body making eczema more likely.

Keep your skin soft and supple by moisturizing with emollients that can help restore the skins natural barrier and reducing the reaction to irritants and thus lessening your eczema. Make sure you are using gentle, unscented formulas. Be cautious of many OTC natural brands as the pollens may still be in the botanicals.
